Hello everyone, this post is the continuation of the on-going stripping down of the car's interior, the Part 1 which you can follow from here Interior Project Phase is the initial strip down where I took off the seats, and some sidings and actually finding a lot of unexpected guests.
Continuing with the interior strip down I proceeded with the removal of the dashboard, the dashboard is the most important part of the car as it holds many things in place and gives the drivers almost everything about the car condition during running. Say its a command center which gives the driver an insight of what is going on with the car.
Dashboard
Dashboards are tricky and a lot of work (more bolts and nuts, more hidden clips and much more), for the B12 Nissan Sentra, there's a few to look for. You must be very, very careful because you can end up scratching the surface/s not just that there are a lot of wires hanging everywhere and you might end up accidentally cutting them off, likewise, this is a lot of tremendous work so be very sure before you get started.
A bracket underneath the dashboard holds it in place, 4x10mm nuts |
Wires, wires, wires |
Steering assembly, practically needs to be disassembled too |
2x10mm nuts for the brackets (L and R) |
2x10mm nuts which hold the hood notch control, its hiding |
Ceiling Cover
The ceiling cover I think is one of the easiest part to remove yet one of the most delicate, you can easily put a scratch, dent, and or any markings onto the ceiling so put an extra carefulness when handling it. It's easy because once every plastic moldings is removed it will automatically fall off magic as it sounds, well that is not good as the last piece of plastic molding could put pressure and markings while it is still in place (again, the moldings are still hanging and the ceiling cover could fall off putting pressure on the end where the last molding is). You have been warned.
Still a virgin |

Rust and Markings at the back of the cover? |
Big marks!!! Something is wrong... |
With that I am almost done stripping down the interior, please stay tuned as a revelation is going to happen next post!
Later,
Kip
